neck 24.75inch scale, Nut Width 42mm, 12 inch radius, fingerboards are "Lignum Rosa", which is a composite made of laminated poplar impregnated with resin, it has the look and feel of Rosewood, but is actually denser and more stable, we are using it universally now. Nut 43mm
Body: Okuman, from central Africa, similar to mahogany, a good tone wood, body depth 45mm.
Electronics: Entwistle AS57 pickups, Alnico 5 magnetics. (vintage Strat).
Volume, Tone, Tone, individual pickup slide selectors.
Machine Heads: Kluson type good quality.
Trem: Floating type (Jazzmaster)
Bridge: Roller type.
Colours: 2 tone sunburst, 3 tone sunburst, Fiesta Red, Daphne Blue, Surf Green, Candy Apple Red, Lake placid blue, Artic White, Vintage white (cream) and Black.
With the rise of the Beatles, guitars became all the rage, and Jansen took off. The company was soon producing 40 or 50 guitars a month. Their Invader model, made in 1964 and based on the famous Fender Stratocaster, was a huge success. It was named after local hit band Ray Columbus and the Invaders. For several years in New Zealand, this was the guitar to have. It outsold not only the Stratocaster but all other imported brands. Although Jansen guitars were often modelled on overseas examples, the company introduced many of their own innovations, especially in the design of the pick-up.
