Audio-Technica combines exceptionally low noise large diaphragm condenser elements with a shotgun design for extremely tight polar patterns, perfect for long range sound recordings. With a length of 35.5 cm, the directional BP28 shotgun microphones have been specially designed to meet the needs of broadcast, film, television, recording outdoors and theater applications. Particularly suitable for long distance sound recording in filmmaking or in theatre, the BP28 have a very low noise level (8 dB), and a transformer coupled output results in a smooth sonic character. The microphone provide extremely high sensitivity (-28 dBV), wide dynamic range (135 dB) and high-SPL capability (143 dB). The patented acoustic port design maintains directionality across the entire frequency range.
